Yep! Smaller than every one of my Silkies, yet weighs only a little less than some of my standard egg-breed pullets and hens.

That's a shame you lost your stock, but at least you can start again with your own breeding. It's good to spread those genes around ! Good luck with everything!

Yeah I always give surplus stock away to local guys and this time it has paid off.
I suppose it's given me time to think and readjust my breeding plans and clean out some breeds I wasn't happy with.

It's good to re evaluate from time to time, I hope your new rooster does well. It's certainly easy to overdo it with chicken breeds.

If I may ask...why was this cock bird inferior to your other male stock? Maybe bone density? He appears to have good muscling. Do you have any pictures of your better stock that you lost?
