I saw your YT channel and would like to ask a question to confirm with an expert. Do you think it is possible to be NPIP certified in a dense urban environment such as NYC?
Edit: Sorry, I just saw that you stated in another thread that you were not the channel.
I had the same problem here, Through some research, NYC allows chicken hens but does not mention coturnix quail. NYS considers game birds that are kept for meat and eggs as poultry, so you don't need a game bird license. I'm 99% sure that it is legal to keep coturnix in NYC.
I would like to bring the conversation back on track. I have the limitations on quail figured out, but my question is if it is possible to be npip certified in a large city like NYC.
The laws state " No person shall keep a live rooster, duck, goose or turkey in the City of New York," That seems really positive for me. + NY state considers coturnix to not be a game bird.
Are you from a densely populated area, and if you know, how likely do large cities offer NPIP? (I can't find any NYC city regulations mentioning it, but NY state has the program)
Thanks!
(this is a copy of thread in local chicken laws, as I thought it may be more relevant here)
Hello everyone,
Has anyone ever got NPIP certified in NYC? If so, how easy is it, and what are the details?
