    Geese training?

This is hilarious. When I think back, when he was 4 months old, he would walk around with that neck stretched out, but never came at me, always ran away. Now the sight of me triggers screams and wing flapping, and of course go near him and the fight is on. So I've read some and I guess I will...

    Dealing with aggressive goose

Mine has gotten very nasty as well. Lowers the head, and slowly, comes at you, then the wings go, he's airborne, legs kicking, wings flapping, and bites. He's the only goose, got him with a duck, and they think they are two of the same, be it geese or ducks. Hisses, screams at the sight of me...

    Feeding ducks in the winter.

We took in one duck, and one goose. We have the bathing during winter issue mostly figured out. My big question is what do they eat once we are covered in snow up here in Wi? We got our first snow lat night, and Ms. Duck is not happy.

what kind of duck is this

It quacks all the time running around with the goose in the morning. heaven forbid the goose/gander leave! They both run around flapping their wings quacking and whatever noise a goose makes, it's quite a scene here, lol. They are well over 6 months old now. Any clue has to the sex of the goose...

what kind of duck is this

ok, this duck came with a goose, roman tufted I believe, who is quite protective of this duck. The lady who gave the two to me told me she was told it was a Pekin, but it's not white. So, what do you suppose this creature is, and does anyone have an inkling if it's male or female? I suppose I...

Bumblefoot update and question about lice.

Well I can't find my old post, so making a new one. My hen survived, she is now called "Lucky" after a couple weeks I noticed the lump reappearing. It seems like stuff gathered in the hole, it was sticking out! yet it healed/scarred over, on the inside. So pulled out what I could, which was...

Vet suggestion for non-invasive bumblefoot cure

Awesome, thanks for sharing. I do not care to do surgery again, hopefully the problem doesn't come back. Writing this down for future reference just in case. I take it this item can be bought at a place like Petco or something?

EMERGENCY!!!!!!!!! Whats is wrong with this hen's eye?

Call the vet. I don't think that's frostbite, and definitely separate her so she isn't picked on. Your sitter may have to give injections. Maybe you can send them the pictures and explain what's going on and they will give you something for it. She's worth a phone call :)

    Bumblefoot

Enola, I got meds today for staph infections, it's just one injection. I don't think people where I live hear about this stuff, so I have a lot of people poking around now on the internet learning. Most people just say ah, it's just a chicken and do away with it. Anyway, we shall see now in a...

    Bumblefoot

Husband opened it up last night and I saw the white..........so we decided to just let her rest and this morning we pulled it out. I hope we got all of it,thought I was gonna pass out standing there. The vet thought it may be attached to her joint and probably little hope if so. I'm hoping his...

    Bumblefoot

We cleaned that baby out really good, but I suppose something could still be in there. I will give our vet a call again, and do the soaks. Our vet recommended just keeping it dry and clean, apparently that's not working.

    Bumblefoot

Hi, been reading on this bumblefoot issue. I have a hen that had this huge tumor like thing with the scab, we removed it, and out popped this black/greenish hard chunk. Put her on penicillin, vet thought it was a good idea. The bump is coming back. Someone told me it could be an encapsulated...
