    Sick Baby chicks

This is my first time raising baby chicks full time by myself(aside from some help from my husband). I've been with them all day and they are inside away from the cold. I just can't figure out what is wrong with them. It's only my rose combs that seem bad off. My other 23 baby chicks are all...

    Sick Baby chicks

I just recieved my baby chick order this morning, everything was set up and ready to go for them. Within the next couple hours, one of my rose comb brown leghorn chicks died. Soon, I noticed that my other 2 rose comb brown leghorns were also very lethargic. They won't eat or drink and just try...

Anyone have experience with Canada Geese?

That was a while ago. He surprisingly does well with our cats and ferrets, and vice versa. Our cats have never ever attempted to harm him, even as a gosling.

Anyone have experience with Canada Geese?

I rescued an orphaned Canada goose, more than likely from the flock of residential geese here. He (or she) was rescued by me when she seemed to be only a few days-a week old. He is VERY attached to us. He lives inside with us, but soon will have chickens and ducks to run around on 5 acres of...

    Silkies as mothers

Does anyone here know what breeds a silkie will raise? I hear they are great mothers for baby chicks and will adopt other baby chicks of different bird species. We plan on raising a few ducks and chickens in the spring and were thinking of getting a silkie to watch over them when we were busy...

    Canada goose legality

We were going to wait until his feathers are fully in and try releasing him at the lake here with the flock of resident canada geese that hang out year round. He would only be comingwith us if he wasnt matured enough. As of right now, it looks likely he will have time to grow before we move...

    Pale goose feet

I am raising a Canada goose. He gets grass, grower pellets for water fowl, fruits like watermelon and cherries, lettuce and a bit of a green powder with is just pulverized roots and veggies. He seems fine and rules the house. He's not sluggish and is very active, but his feet are so pale. His...

    health question for canada goose

I saw somewhere in the forums that someone makes a smoothie for their young ones of kale, romaine lettuce, grass, and a bit of natural plain yogurt. He doesn't seem to like it that blended. And he doesn't seem to want the watermelon either... He is digging all the grass blades in his water though.

    health question for canada goose

My Canada goose is now about 4 weeks old. He's on non medicated Purina start and grow. He also gets some lettuce and spinach leaves everyday. However his legs and feet are starting to get paler and his beak has some pale markings. He seems to not want to get his feed now, but he still wants the...

    Canada goose legality

The permit takes at least 6 months. And I'll be moving across the country within that time... So I don't know what to do.

    Canada goose legality

I live in the states and adopted a baby goose when his parents were no where to be found..I suspected he may be orphaned or lost. But with the flock of geese around constantly pecking him, I didn't want to leave him by himself. He was only a couple days old when I adopted him and he's been with...
