They are eating the greenery. They love it. Also, if it's only an hour do they need water when they are going back to the coop with water? I would add water if longer or if it was warm. I didn't think about pecking.

Lost our first to a hawk (1 of 16 at 12 weeks). They were out of the coop free ranging. We don't want to have to always be there or keep them in the coop (with a run). I built a PVC with bird netting mobile run and I think it's going to work... thoughts?

I was thinking no on the rooster, but now I'm leaning toward yes. Here is the coop and the chicks! I have 2 kinds of heat and going to build out a automatic waterer (pvc with nipples). Thx, Rob

We are new to chickens. We got 16 (2 days old) back on 10/16/19. We have 4 yellow Buff Orpingtons, 4 Barred Plymouth Rocks, 4 Araucanas and 4 Rhode Island Reds. I built a pretty cool coop. We just moved them into it 2 weeks ago. Things are going great. I think we have 1 rooster, maybe 2...
