Mutt chicks from a Columbian Rock roo x EE, RIR, and Barred rock hens.

Is this rooster a Columbian rock?

Any ideas of what he'd throw x barred rock or EE?

Is this rooster a Columbian rock?

Also, I he's almost a year old and super sweet. He got the name snowball from the kids when he was a chick and super white. We didn't want a rooster, but he's so sweet that we can't get rid of him.

Is this rooster a Columbian rock?

I'm wondering what type of rooster this is and what I should look for in the chicks he throws from my barred rock and black ee girls. Thanks!

The worst things where I live are the fox, raccoons, hawks, wild neighborhood dogs, opossums and coyotes. I live 1 mile from downtown in the pearl district. There are more things to worry about than you will ever know. Use strong hardware cloth and then use welded wire fence over that on your runs.

Is anyone at the auction today? I have way too much to do at home so I couldn't make it. Maybe I'll catch the wagnor county one if it is the next auction. Rinda- how many chicks will your brooder stack hold? You sound like you're about to have a ton of birds.

When is the auction in inola? I only have 4 hens now, and I could use anoth 4-6. They are still giving me 3 or 4 eggs everyday. RSLs are amazing. If there are any at an auction, you better believe I'll be bidding on them. Rinda, have you candled and of your FBCMs yet?

Nice looking brooder! I would love to see how the watering system works. I need something other than the normal 2gal waterer. They kick up shavings in it everyday. It gets nasty quick. If you want to get rid of a laying EE, you know who to call. I'll pay you what you want for her, too...

Can't wait to see the pictures of the finished product! So are the chickens closer to your hives now? Chicksooner- What kind of coop are you thinking of building? I was wanting to have EEs, but I'm just not sure about using my limited space for less eggs. Maybe when I get a bigger place. These...

There is one thing that's weird about them, though. They go through more water than the 8 hens I had before. They don't go through food as fast, but drink like they've been in a hotbox for weeks. Kinda strange.

I'm sorry to hear about that. I know that you got some FBCMs that ended up being a motley crew, I hope they were at least tasty to the dog! Haha. Well, I have to say, these red sex links are freaking laying machines! 4-3 eggs a day now for a week out of 4 pullets!! No added light, and nothing...

Did you pen your males up in a small cage a few weeks before you processed them? I hear that helps, and so does using different feed.

Thanks, but I found a little guard dog. He is small, but I bet he will give anything in our area a run for its money. Got to love terriers. Man, I went to a wedding on Friday, had a fun day yesterday, and now today I'm going 90mph trying to get anything done. I don't think I'm ever going to...
