TULSA area Cluckers

OK I'm MUCH happier with the FBCM we picked up now- one of them laid today and it is a very nice DARK egg! Don't have my color chart yet that I ordered, I would guess between a 6 and a 7. We can work on SOP or egg color but not both at the same time, now that I know egg color is good I'm happy!

And... pullet egg from our spring chicken Daisy today!!! She was among the first chickens we bought, got her at the Chicken Stock in June. I think she is between 29 and 31 weeks old. Also the pullet Ameraucana finally laid in the coop today- we've had two under the coop and one in an old tipped over trash can, so I was relieved she found the coop today, I was beginning to think I was going to have to lock her up! Funny thing: Daisy also laid in the split coop, in a nest box. That is funny because for the last 2 or 3 weeks she has been confined to the Cowboy Coop with her man Big Stuff and plenty of nest boxes. Only started letting them out two days ago. Silly chickens...

Here we have top row: Black Australorp, French Black Copper Maran (from our newest two still in quarantine pen), and Rhode Island Red.
Bottom row: blue-greenish Ameraucana and RIR
Does anyone else have BA? Are your eggs pinkish? Her eggs are definitely pink tinted... I'm wondering if pink X FBCM would make a reddish egg...

Rinda~

How are your Cream Legbar chicks doing? I am getting mine tomorrow. I was next on the list after you from our fellow BYC member. Can't wait to see them!!
Please let me know when you will have some Isbar chicks for sale. Only need a couple or 3.

Good, I'm assuming you got yours from Poco Pollo? My two pair from her are doing well. Out in the big split coop on the "baby" side with our isbars and french black coppers that are growing up. The Isbars are coming along well, although I REALLY wish the two oldest weren't both roosters! :/ But the younger set appear to all be pullets- 3 of them, so I can't complain too much! Will definitely post when we have some available! The Sheriff sent me one last batch of Isbar eggs and out of 15 or so eggs I ended up with 2 chicks that hatched over Thanksgiving, a blue and a black. Still no splash. But late spring next year we can cross blue with blue and get our own splashes hopefully!

First week of December we will have a big batch of EE chicks and FBCM chicks hatching out. The FBCM are hatching eggs we got from some one local. We are going to pick through what we want and sell the rest- hoping for lots of feather legged ones!

I have seen the FBCM eggs on CL but did not realize they were for hatching. I thought it just said fresh eggs. Will have to go back and look at that.

If anyone is interested I have 4 2 month old black orpington roos for sale. They are big and beautiful.

Yes I have a batch of his in the incubator as we speak, they are the ones due to hatch early December. We got about a dozen and a half. Not as dark as the ones in his picture, there are probably 6 or 7 that are really dark and the rest are a medium dark, still darker than my RIR eggs but not maran standard. I will let you know if they hatch out looking nice!

When is the auction in inola? I only have 4 hens now, and I could use anoth 4-6.

They are still giving me 3 or 4 eggs everyday. RSLs are amazing. If there are any at an auction, you better believe I'll be bidding on them.

Rinda, have you candled and of your FBCMs yet?
