HELP! Chicken injured from dog attack

Thanks so much for the feedback. I have heard conflicting information as far as whether to let it dry or keep it wrapped. Will keeping it wrapped (which will in turn keep it moist) cause bacteria build up / infection?

HELP! Chicken injured from dog attack

My Sansa was attacked by one or both of our dogs Thursday night. There was a large flap of skin hanging off of her left breast that I cut off. She wasn't bleeding and doesn't seem to have any internal injuries. She has been drinking a lot of water, which I am glad to see - but hasn't been...

    Dog Attacked Chicken

I don't but I could get some. For protein or what is the benefit? I was able to get him to eat more food today. He went outside for a bit but pretty much just stood there. Got a little off balance a couple of times but definitely seems MUCH better than before. :)

    Dog Attacked Chicken

Apologies for the graphic photo but I figured 1. it would help you guys get a better idea of what I'm seeing and 2. if you have chickens, it's probably nothing you haven't seen already. Would this be considered a prolapsed vent?

So Nugget has gone poo a couple of times but, upon further inspection, his vent is protruding a bit and a lot of the excrement was getting stuck there. I cleaned it as best I could with water. Would this be treated the same as a prolapsed vent from egg laying?

    Dog Attacked Chicken

Thank you so much for the well wishes! He's drinking water but only when I bring it to his face. I have been able to get him to eat a little but again, only when I hand feed him. He's not really doing much on his own. He did go poo last night - white and watery. Not really much since then but...

Thank you so much for the information. We will be keeping him inside where it's warm and quiet and hopefully he recovers.

    Dog Attacked Chicken

Well, Nugget seemed okay last night and was walking around in the coop. Today, we found him/her lying in the coop on his side. He won't stand at all. He's been drinking a little water and nibbling on a bit of tomato and lettuce. We have a box inside and he is just lying in it on his side. I...

    Dog Attacked Chicken

4 months. We've gone back and forth with whether this one is a he or a she. I've posted pictures to a chicken group on FB and quite a few people said "she" was a "he". We're still not completely sure.

    Dog Attacked Chicken

Thank you so much! He seems to be doing okay this morning. We'll keep an eye on him and will definitely be watching the dog more closely when the chickens are out.

    Dog Attacked Chicken

So our dog has been outside with the chickens before but today he attacked one of them (one that we think is a roo). When we saw the chicken, we thought he was dead until we noticed he was still breathing. He was bleeding a bit where his comb meets his beak but that was the only external wound...
