We have 5 baby chicks and 5 full grown chickens and one duck. The duck keeps getting injured by something in the coop. The birds are obviously pecking at its eye, the baby chicks have since the day we brought them home together, but in the big coop now that they're bigger they seem to get along...

Still trying to figure that out. Not sure if it was one of our grown chickens or something else. One of our chickens was bloody and injured too, but none of the baby chicks. You'd think a chick would be harmed before the big birds!?
I'm in central cal, our chickens live in a backyard coops. What kind of predators do I have to worry about for my birds? There is a cover over the top so birds can't fly in. We've had a couple rats around. Will they hurt?
