What in the absolute F*CK is wrong with my quail. I've had quail for almost 10 years now, and I never had any big problems.
Now with my 4th batch of baby quail everything is going wrong. EVERYTHING.
Out of almost 30 that hatched I have now 6½ that are still alive. Yes you read that right, 6½...
Thanks, I thought about culling too, but thought maybe I could give it a try first... The chick is growing and healthy otherwise. But if its a hip problem it probably is the best
Hello again. This batch of baby quail is driving me nuts... They hatched two weeks ago , and one has a splayed leg. I tried to make a cast between the legs so it couldn't get them as far apart ( im sorry, I'm from Germany and my English is not the best, im not sure how to describe it better. I...
Hello👋🏻
As title says, my quail chicks keep dropping dead. They hatched 4-5 days ago, and every day at least two died since then. That never happened before, I feel so helpless :(
They are warm and have food and water oc.
They get a mix of small bird seed, poppy seeds, oregano and oatmeal. I...
Hello 👋🏻

When it hatched it couldn't keep its head up and was just rolling around the first hours. I was sure it wouldn't make it. Next day it was...
Looks like I panicked a bit too early. Even though I obviously had some humidity troubles one Chick has hatched! Just an hour after I posted lol.
It got out pretty fast, I haven't seen a crack when I checked earlier, and then from first pip to zip it only took half an hour. Let's just hope the...
Yes sorry I forgot, the hygrometer also shows the temperature, but I had to set it up in a corner , at a different height than the incubators temperature sensor. There it shows the temperature between 35-37°C, so also fluctuating. But I'm not sure if that's correct.
For everyone reading this...
The incubator is a cheaper one I got from eBay. It holds the temperature well at 37,8°C. Don't know whats that in Fahrenheit. However, it doesn't show the humidity level, so we added a hygrometer. That was calibrated.
From day one to 14 I kept the humidity between 40-50%, but I had some trouble...
