I can understand that thought process but note the walnut comb and fibro skin (also evident with the blue earlobe). Silkies are also often bearded. If you crossed a pea-combed EE with a Cochin, all offspring would either have modified pea combs or single combs. A walnut comb wouldn’t occur. All...
She looks to be what people call “Zombies” or “Pearl Onyx.” Your other one is definitely crossed with Silkie (note fibro-skin and walnut comb). She could be part Cochin as well but I’m also potentially seeing vulture hocks. She might be a multi-generational mix
Okay I’m just going to go with breeds here: Lily looks like a Cinnamon Queen to me. She could be a Starlight Green Egger as well. Casey is a Rainbow. Luna appears to be self blue rather than porcelain. My money is on Barbie just being a Rhode Island Red as well. Not saying an Egger couldn’t be...
Agreed and these all match the description you were given. You have Mystic Onyx and a Cinnamon Queen. Your first birds all have five toes (dead giveaway) and your other bird looks like many other Cinnamon Queens I’ve seen.
He’s undoubtedly a cockerel. Feathers don’t lie. Anyone who said otherwise is being thrown off by the pea comb but that’s due to unreliable methods like number of rows
I almost wonder if Hoover’s accidentally updated the wrong image because it used to be this bird that shows the partial pattern of a Wyandotte
To further my point, the hen in the new picture is potentially showing white feathers (indicating dominant white) which wouldn’t be coming from either...
Why Hoover’s has that picture is unknown to me but that bird isn’t the specific cross they use to make Cinnamon Queens. Per their website it’s a Rhode Island Red over a Silver Laced Wyandotte. Depending on if the Wyandotte is homogeneous for a rose combs leads to the mix of combs we’re seeing...
