We were gifted a silver Ameraucana bc our friends were having problems w him, aggressive to other hens etc. they thought since our flock was bigger he might do better.
Does this look like a silver Ameraucana to you? He isn’t shy of us but refuses to stay w our flock, can fly over the 6ft fence w ease!
I want his babies if it’s a true Ameraucana. My AI is claiming he’s all sorts of different breeds.🫤

No he is not a "silver"
He is a blue
Could very well be pure but I won't say that with certainty
Skip asking AI anything chicken related. AI knows nothing about chickens
AI told me one of my chickens was a pigeon, lol. I'm not a fan to say the least (maybe I'm too old?) But my kids were laughing about the mistakes it was making and wanted to see what it said about the birds.

😂 it first started w the pictures I was taking and how it wanted to identify it 😬 then I venture to a different AI and it said some wild breeds 😂

Can this breed be so picky he only wants other Ameraucana hens? Or are some roosters just bad to hens, abusive?
He crouches and does what I call a bullet hit to them. He hasn’t tried to mount any that I’ve noticed. I made the mistake of putting him w my sweetest. Now I pair him w Miss Mean

He appears to have a modified pea comb which would have me questioning if he was pure Ameraucana because they theoretically should be homogenous for pea combs… He isn’t a good quality Ameraucana regardless. His comb is out of standard and lopped and his type is poor. Temperament can be genetic so if he’s rough with hens and poor quality, I wouldn’t recommend breeding him personally. Ameraucanas are common enough where you could mitigate these issues by getting another cockerel. He also isn’t silver and is blue

I didn’t realize that about his temperament passing on to offspring! Definitely will not breed him then
