I have some gorgeous Lavender Orp girls and a great LO Roo. I've heard I should cross him with black 'chickens'. Like...?? Australorps or Black-Sex Linked. Which would be best to cross him with? What would this produce? Has anyone done this and what were your results?

I was leaning towards buffs also but just wasn't sure (never had them before). Anyone have them?

OOOOOHhhhhhhh....I think you figured it out. I was thinking Egyptian Fayoumi but now that I've googled pictures of Silver Campines....that's more like him. Thank you soooo much! Do you have experience with this breed and if so, can you give me some pros/cons. Thank you!!!

That's what I thought also. Egyptian Fayoumi but I don't think the hatchery sells those (but I'm definitely going to look again ). He's so unique, I'm probably going to keep him.

Received this chick as my "exotic chick" from a hatchery. I believe it's a roo but not sure...any help on the breed? "He" has black legs and usually stands really tall (he ducked down when I took the photo).

Found this really helpful. I have leghorns and some 'heavy breeds' (that's what the hatchery called them). They look like they have meat on them but when I catch them, it's mostly feathers (and attitude). They are about 14 weeks old. All are cockerels...so some are starting to think they...
