After reading that ... let me make it more clear, by it being their home for a week or two I mean a place to put them up at night in the garage so they don't get eaten by coyote.
I am moving soon and have 15 in my little flock, only moving about 20 miles, need advise on how to transport my chickens. I was really thinking just a large cardboard boxes with ventilation of course, as this might be their home for about a week or two until I can get something permanent built.
Update: after a week my hen finally started moving around and has now gone back to laying. I did pull her out from the rest, I have a rather aggressive roo, and gave her 4 days of R&R, hand feed and watered her then put her back in with the rest.
She stayed the night in the crate in our house. She made it through the night, I got her to drink a little water last night, she ate one dried worm. But she still will not walk. ??????
