    I have 8 new chicks that are now 9 weeks old. I introdused them to my other 4 hens at 5 weeks old. they have been cohabitating in the coop and run for 3 weeks now and the chicks all roost in the nest boxes.     thank you so much. she is back to herself and all is well. keeping them all away from the rest of the flock though. Rooster is very mean to them going to wait untill they are a bit bigger.

    Yes they are RIR's Maybe next year we will branch out and try a different breed. with that in mind. Do I need to keep the rir rooster awayfrom the new breed?

    Well We did it!! we have 8 new chicks out of 11 in the bator. 2 we had to help out at the last hour. now a week old. When can we introduse them to the outside and the rest of the flock?

    6 hatched out of the 11 . 2 more alive but there shells cracked with all the others bouncing them around the bator. I will leave them in for a few more hours to see what happens. all came out of the fridge.
