    Oh it's definitely Marans. Bought eggs and hatched myself. The colour is definitely off and a throwback to something. But that egg was the colour of dark chocolate. The other girls I have from from the same hatch have very different colouring.

    I am second guessing myself with this chick. I was thinking this was a pullet but she now has some weird tail feathers coming in which make me think roo. What do you think? Wheaten Marans, 7 weeks.

    Well here they are again a week later. I have divided them into what I think are girls and boys. There are a couple in the girl group I am a little unsure of. What do you think? Have I divided them correctly? And fyi- they are only in these totes for the purpose of sexing and picture taking...

    I see some males too, but by my guesstimate, it looks like about twice as many females, than males. I will try to post some individual pics later.

    I don't know what happened. She was fine this morning at 10.... when I came home at 2, she was like that. They already had vitamins in their waters. I did separate her once I found her. but she was dead by 5pm. I knew she wasn't going to make it, she just looked like she was dying...

    So this chick was perfect this morning. But now her neck is all twisted to the side and she is stumbling around. I have been holding her for a bit and she is laying in my hand not moving. My instinct is she is dying. But why? And what's wrong?? She was happy this morning. [/IMG]
