    Coop is just about done, took the little ones out to play in the run for a bit this afternoon. :) They loved it! And here is one of their coop (only a few minor things left to do on it, then it's ready for them when they get a bit bigger!)

    Just an update! The chicks are doing great, all healthy and getting bigger by the day! My wife and I have been busy as can be building their coop! Hope to have some pics up soon!

    We ended up with two Buff Orpingtons and two Barred Rock, all pullets. Somehow, after originally only deciding to start with two to three we ended up with four. :P I may try a little of the hard boiled egg yolk this week. Thanks!

    they got their first crickets today.

    I can wait to try this with our new little ones. They already will chase little reflections of light around, can't imagine how cute they'll be chasing crickets!

    BROODER thread! Post pics of your brooders!

    We went fairly simple. Plastic tub from Walmart, lamp from the local hardware store and feed dish and waterer from the feed store. All for about $35. We're new to chickens, but we wanted to keep the brooder fairly simple since they grow so fast!
