First off, not a pro lol, but when I see blood, I take a dry qtip and stop it. I use vaseline lightly and coat only the drying out membrane and tuck a fresh wsrm wet rag around the egg and put back in the bator. I wait about an hour or 2 and try again. Letting the chick rest, my nerves rest...
If u expect more pips today, but have none yet..... I would go ahead and help. I would help because it looks like his membrane is starting to turn tan and he hasn't really progressed is over 12 hours. Don't go on just my word though, I have assisted a total of 3 babies. I waited too late and...
Awww. I am so sorry. Happy to hear that you have 2 healthy chickies though. The little guy I helped out was slower than the others for awhile. I took him out once a day for electrolyte water/wet crumbles for a week or so. He just started flying this week, so I guess he is doing well
I am working on a coolerbator too. Tried the water heater thermo and wasn't too happy, so I am waiting on an STC1000 now. Hopefully that'll do the trick (I have 4 days to finish it up eek)... My LG is also being retired, after its first hatch... It will now be the chick ICU. LOL I had one...
Wish mine would go broody!!! They lay and could care less about sitting! LoL
Glad to see a few of us hatching at the same time. Wow 62!!! I have 16 this time.... 2nd hatch in a bator 1st time wasn't so hot. Am almost through with my first DIY incubator and hope to switch the eggs over when...
Just wanted to see if anyone else is due to hatch on May 30th. My second set (hoping better than the first since they aren't shipped). Ready to hatch along if anyone else has their incubators on :)
My extremely hard to photograph, feathered footed, four toed babies... it took ten tries to get the halfway decent pics. Hubby says I can't have a new camra this year... spent too much on chickens
In the flock that the eggs came from there are adult:
Serema, d'uccle, cochin, frizzle...
