When do muscovy ducks lay eggs?
I have been removing her eggs daily as it will be -20 for most of next month. I will let her hatch a clutch in the spring though. We gave our amish neighbors an extra drake this summer and they want some females for him. Im pleasantly surprised to be receiving eggs still and I guess im lucky... -

Out of my 5 muscovy hens, only 3 are old enough to lay (hatched in march and may this year). One has laid 1 egg a day for the past month and another one started laying 1 a day this week. The one that just started has become broody. Lays in one of her multiple nests (always trying to make more)... -

My drake was hatched this spring, maybe 7 months old and this just started a couple of days ago. He started just being wet and has gotten dirty over the days. They have a duck house inside of a barn and he dries out pretty well over night -

Wet feather doesn't fit mine either. He is also free range with 2 kiddie pools of water and he is swimming a little less but its in the 50s in the day and 30s at night, so getting colder. I dont think it's parasites, my other 6 don't have issues. It might be an infection. Is yours feathers... -

That is how I described it also, like a drowned rat. He feels wet and cold and will have to stay out of water this winter also if it cant be fixed. Good luck to your duck also! -

My beautiful white drake has been waterlogged and dirty for the past 3 days. I assumed it was his oil gland and poured a couple of cups if hot water on it and massaged it. It has not helped and all of the feathers in that area are stained yellow unlike my other ducks. Anyone know why this has... -
At what age can ducklings intermingle with an adult duck?
From my experience with my muscovys, it is much easier when the ducklings are no longer peeping which was 8-10 weeks. I added 2- 6 week olds, a 8 week old and a 10 week old and my adults targeted the peeping ones. -
Adding 5 week olds to 15 week olds
Update- I got another 8 week old female and a 10 week old from the same people I got the first 4. The 2 males had to live in the pig barn for a few days but all seems to be going well for now! -

Yours looks too old to correct but it won't bother him. Mine could even fly before I clipped his wings and his is severe in both wings. -

Males will also have longer bodies. From the end of their wing feathers to the tip of their tail will be a longer distance. These were my first ducks so I didn't realize what sex they were until 10 weeks but now looking back I should have known at about 4 weeks. Here are 2 females on the left...
