I've always used plastic bins. Plain ole litter box pans to be honest. Easy clean up and cheap to replace when needed. This has been my go-to for going on 10 years.
You're going to LOVE having chickens! I got my first day old chicks almost 10 years ago. Best decision ever. They're so entertaining and smart! My oldest remaining hen is from that first batch of 6 chicks. Macie Gracie will be 10 years old this May. She is a Barred Rock.
