Methods for checking Emu eggs Pre-Hatch (please post methods)

Didn't mean weight is THE only way to tell if something is developing inside, but if it's not losing weight at all, you can be sure that there's nothing alive inside...

If the eggs still moving, it's alive.... great news! Leave it alone baby emu will find it's way out. No need to increase humidity. Good luck!!!

Hi, I have 3 eggs that are just about to hatch, 2 of them start to move at day 35, 1 isn't moving at all and I'm pretty sure it's either infertile or scrambled. Did you weight your eggs regularly? My 2 that are moving lost weight equally every week and the other one didn't lose that much...

Hello everyone, So I decided to try incubating again this year... Last year I had 3 eggs, 2 of them hatched perfectly, sent shells for dna testing, and that was 2 girls. Sadly they both died after 15 days! They were eating and drinking well, running like crazy until that morning when I found...

Good evening, well after almost 3 weeks, my 2 babys died... can't tell what happen, some said they drank to much water and kind of drown... that's the most revelant explanation. We had a real warm period with humidex of +35 degrees C, and in fact I realize that they were drinking like crazy...

Not a good day... need advice please

Well as you know, I hatched 2 emus a few weeks ago. This morning I found one of them dead... apart from being devastated, I now end up with only one emu. What you suggest to keep him happy? For the next few days I'll keep him close, but it will need a friend sooner or later. I have laying...

I'm sending the shells to healthgene in ontario, just google it, it cost $15 each. They will send you a kit for each emu, kits are for blood and feather testing, but I wrote back to them and they answered that shells are ok too, as long as you kept the inner liner with some trace of blood in...

Hehe, nice little monsters indeed. they will find everything that shouldn't be there, it's so funny. I move mine in the barn this weekend, they are in a secure enclosure 4 x 6 feet, with many hens as neighbors, and the opportunity to go outside in the afternoon. They drink and eat well, I...

3 wonderful babys playing together, that is so nice, those little creature are so wonderful. Glad A finally made it, but you said it had a hard time coming out, maybe he was just totally exhausted... like you! Personally I wouldn't interfere with E, if he can't make it out on his own, he will...

For A, try to turn the egg a bit, it might help, I had similar problem with 356, but not that long, I turned the egg about 90 degres and it help a lot. for the bloody navel, it is normal as long as it stopped bleeding just make sure it rest on a clean surface and...
