    So, my wanting to start to raise quail is going to happen soon. Wednesday night I won a contest on Facebook for 13 jumbo Coturnix quail eggs. The eggs are coming out of VA, and I am hopeful that the shipping and the cooler weather does not destroy the eggs. Any hints on hatching shipped eggs...

    Beautiful duck in your Avatar. I only have two girls left, I lost my Cayuga early this spring. She was 7 this year and seemed to be doing well. She was napping in the door of her house and didn't wake.

    (1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I have had chickens for 7 1/2 years. Never imagined I would go so attached to them. (2) How many chickens do you have right now? Currently I have 36 chickens in two houses and 2 ducks in another house, with one house empty...
