I have had chickens for 7 1/2 years. Never imagined I would go so attached to them.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Currently I have 36 chickens in two houses and 2 ducks in another house, with one house empty.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have many different breeds, BLR Wyandotte, Barred Rock, Silver lace Wyandotte, Easter egger, Olive egger, Wybar, Bantam Cochin, Black Copper Maran, Tri-colored Sizzle, Cemani, Lavender Orpington, Black Laced Blue Wyandotte and Barnyard mix.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
The personalities and the eggs.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I fish, hunt, kayak, love to travel, garden, sew, and incubate eggs.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am married, I have only chickens and ducks currently, looking to get into quail, both for meat and for eggs. I am a Medical Assistant at a rural clinic.

I have known about BYC for about 8 years, I found BYC on the internet while researching chickens and deciding which ones to start with. My wife has had an account for several years, but I decided it was time to start my own.
