Those are some beautiful birds! I am still getting over the city making me get rid of my small flock due to a neighbor complaint, so I have to enjoy vicariously! Thanks for posting those pics.
Supposedly the egg formation and laying cycle is about 26 hours or so. Therefore, they do not lay at the same time every day. And occasionally they will not lay one day and the cycle get re-set. Remember we are dealing with living organisims and not machines. Variety is indeed the spice of life!
Well, I was able to place my flock with some very good people, so I am relieved. I hope my neighbor who complained is happy and I hope no one ever does to him/her what he/she did to me! I will now have to enjoy chickens vicarously through this forum.
Thanks, Texas Star and no Promised Land, but city ordinance says they have to be 50 feet from next property line. I am definitely in violation unfortunately. Just wish the person who complained had talked to me first before going to the city and would have had the guts to talk to me.
New neighbor complained and now I have to get rid of my flock. They are free to a good home. I have 3 black minorcas, 3 black leghorns, 3 brown leghorns and 2 barred rocks. They are about a year and a quarter old, lay on average 7-8 eggs per day. Also 7 salmon faverolles I hatched April 21...
