Final update: Dreamer is WELL!!! She is a normal chicken in every way! She's smaller than the flock, but just as funny and aggressive and excited to be a chicken. Thank you all for your help! (Think I have a little one with a cold now, but I'll start a new strand for her.) Cheers!!

Morning update! After a day inside with me, cuddling (my husband was not amused) and warm, and the night with her buddies out in the hen house (with a heat lamp), Dreamer seems to be on the mend!! She's off the meds, she's already had two huge poops (green, but solid with white caps -does...

Yes! The vitamins...and this is so she can get more energy to eat and drink? After just an hour inside with me she is eating. Still not drinking and no poop. She does give a slight shake of her head every so often.

So, I have no idea what's up with my sweet chick, but she's on her last legs. She still refuses to drink water, but will peck around when roused completely awake...otherwise, she stands still, on her feet, fluffed up, in a dead sleep. She's also taken to trotting around behind our Orpingtons...

Did you ever figure out what was up with your chick? Sounds a lot like an issue I have with one of mine right now - not wanting to lay down to sleep, but sleeping much of the day, puffed up.

I have no idea if the crop is enlarged...wouldn't know it if I felt it. That was my initial feeling about her illness, but the hunched up look and the sleeping didn't seem to be consistant. She wasn't shaking her head or anything. They get chick crumbles and green stuff from the yard and garden.
