You have to make sure to scrub her feathers to get the liquid on her skin. If you don’t then the water will just run right off. I would spray diluted permethrin on her bedding to the point it is decently damp.
His do look a little long and will possibly make him trip. It is always a good idea to trim them to be shorter as they are more useful in case of another hawk attack.
For your girl sleeping out side of the coop it could be space related. Or from my own experience, she just really is not smart and gets bullied out of the coop when she tries to go in at night.
For the mice, I put out traps out by where the food is at night and locked my hens in the coop until...
My absolutely show stopping chamois girl has fully molted and her crest is gorgeous! :celebrate
Plus an extra image of her body type :) I would adore to have a good chamois rooster if I was able to have a roo where I live haha. Her color seems washed out in this lighting but she is super golden...
Pullet. The patterning looks like it could be male saddle feathers but those are most definitely not male specific feathers. She is just going to start laying soon.
Mites leave those sort of bald spots on my birds. Check near the vent and her fluff under her vent for any signs of bugs. You should be able to spot them in the
day.
Your oldest hen could be not wanting to breed with him and he is trying to put her in her place. Him targeting her is not a good thing. I would remove the rooster for a week or two so your hen can catch a break. When your rooster comes back into the flock, hopefully he won’t be mean.
@Wyorp Rock and @Eggcessive
She sounds to possibly have some sort of respiratory infection. I won’t perscribe anything as a definite as I am not a professional at this, haha. I would suggest looking at Doxy-Tyl for your girl whilst we wait for more input. You can put it in her water. Jedds...
A dominant white rooster will have pink/white legs if I am remembering correctly. I have a friend with a dominate white roo with pink legs because of those genes.
i may be wrong, dont quote me on anything :oops:
Barnevelders have some gorgeous feathers. If you want birds with funky hair, Cackle has appenzeller spitzhaubens with the most weird little hairdo, their coloring is also gorgeous. Speckled sussex and/or jubilee orpingtons for those colors.
Bantam cochins are usually super fluffy so they look to be a ton bigger than they are. They are around 12 inches long roughly? if you account for their fluff. But they are under 3 lbs. You can easily grab them with one hand.
