A friend of mine got these 3 from a guy who said they were game hens. I ended up with 2 of them. He said they were between 10 to 12 wks. I thought they looked like little roosters when I got them a few wks ago. What do you guys think? I cant find chickens who look similar to them, anyone know...
I hope not in your case.. . But Mareks disease causes my girls to do this. Sometimes they draw their had back really far and twist their necks around.. Sometimes they just don't have the strength to pick it up. Is she eating well?
Its been a crappy month. Todays mareks diagnosis. Lost 8 to mareks this month...an eye to the pox...10 to two differnt dog attacks this past wk.( They took out some of my old hens :( and my cream crested legbars. )
If it is pox around the eye be sure to use an antiobotic eye cream . My hen has lost an eye due to the pox learned to late how important it is to do that.
I dont know. Probably slim chance of it the one. I sent in a polish hen of five months of age. It was her second relapse. She was full of lesions...but they think it was the cocci that killed her from my understanding. I did treat them with corid..but must not have been aggressively enough...
No, they dont. And since I have two paralized chickens laying here I'm guessing it's mareks. Their combs are chalky looking now. They are alert and eat . I'm going to send the next one who dies into a&m.
Do u upload different from an image? I don't have a video of the leghorn, but I do have one of the mille when she first went down. She acts normal now. But not so much then.
No, she was not. Isn't the mortality rate high for mareks? I keep going back to mareks and then thibring no ..the only other bird to show lameness is still alive and doing well although still hobbling. The polish who never showed signs of anything but being lathargic died. Now the leghorn...
