ABSOLUTELY! Been criticized by some because I don't always scrub pans/buckets with soap. Might as well put SHOES on them, too, or teach them to watch their step. As far as freezing water suggestion goes . . . GREAT suggestion which would vary depending on how deep freeze line in your area is -...

No one said it would be perfect but if it's perfect for one's needs - then it's perfect! I quit having chickens after getting a friendly, non-aggressive peck & ended up in the hospital (long story but also a LONG illness. Now I stick to ducks & geese. But I have to control myself when I see...

    Pullet gasping/wheezing- HELP

In a similar incident with one of my "girls" I gave her a lttle magnesium & put her to soak in plain epsom salts about 1/2 hour, patted her dry & gave her a low heat blow dry. It was bedtime by then & made her a little bed close to me & she was good as new next day. Maybe a castor oil pack &...

Rabbit tilts head to one side & stumbles when trying to walk

Many thanks to helpful comments from all concerned. Have no idea cause of the issue but it's resolved using castor oil, DMSO, Colloidal silver, peroxide (not all at once, of course - just trial & error) I think me holding him & singing to him worked (just kidding).

Reminds me how relaxing it was to sit on the deck in the evenings - making memories watching our flock peacefully meander around with each other. Each have their own personality. My (now late) husband & I used to say it was our real life National Geographic. BETTER than anything on TV...

Just in time for the current UFO or UAP disclosure hype going on. NOW all you need is a chicken statue with 2 antennae as in the sitcom "My Favorite Martian!

Rabbit tilts head to one side & stumbles when trying to walk

This is what I learned from Nemo: {Yes, DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide) can be used for treating otitis (ear infection) due to its ability to transport antibiotics through the eardrum, making them more effective. This property has been studied and documented, indicating that DMSO can enhance the...

Rabbit tilts head to one side & stumbles when trying to walk

No pix. Have had him for about 9 months. He gobbled up his kale & carrots this a.m. In fact, he saw me & got to me pretty fast except for having to 'right' himself when he stumbled. I noticed him stumbling last night but he was eager to get his apple & kale so I thought he sure was clumsy...

Rabbit tilts head to one side & stumbles when trying to walk

Rabbit tilts head to (R) side. Falls to (R) when trying to walk. Think he may have earache or infection, ear mites or tick in ear. We don't use drugs or chemicals. I guess I could pull tick out but what if mites or ear infection? Any suggestions? Thank you guys.

2 large raccoons spotted in yard last night. Improvement suggestions greatly appreciated.

I got 2 GLD's (guardian livestock dogs). No more weasels, raccoons, possum, groundhogs - essentially no predators. My geese/ducks free range 24/7 now - NO problemo & these dogs are sensitive, loving, protective & FEARLESS. I'll probably let our rabbit free range as well. We had 2 a few years...

My chicken is a bit grown now, but she has a severe leg disability. What do I do?

Oh my! It really depends on the cause &, even though you don;t know the cause, you absolutely KNOW she's not in any pain. If she was born this way - it's all she knows so her condition is what's NORMAL. I had a cripple chicken & had a harness diaper for her when she came inside to be with me...
