I am very glad to hear that some chickens enjoy the outdoors at winter as much as mine do! They did molt a lot a month back but have grown their feathers since. But the molting never stopped them from going outside or laying eggs.

Thank you for your reply. I could open up the little hinged door near the peak. It is south facing and located at the far end from where the birds sleep. I can also control the size of the opening.
