To anyone who has the knowledge, Help what does it mean if my chickens ear lobes look like partially filled water balloons ?
This was yesterday and now today they look like normal wrinkly earlobes ?? I wasn't hallucinating it was bizarre but today she looks fine. My Plymouth Rock is 1...
I have a question for anyone who can help me......This is off topic from this thread .... but can anyone tell me why my chickens earlobes are puffy and look like they are filled with fluid when they usually look like a water balloon without water in them????
I always pick up my chickens and...
Wow I feel so bad after reading the input from all of you pros ( those having to deal with the real cold) I have only 9 hens and I have had 250 watt bulb in the coop, since Sept and i live in the Pacific Northwest...Silverton,Or. Geez I haven't seen 5-10 below since the late 1970's and that...
I have 2 cats in my garage and they use a black kitty box house we bought from Target. It looks like a mock dog house with an opening in the door. My two skinny leghorns always come in the garage and peck at the cat food and the other day when I went out into the garage cause she was making a...

BOG,
I agree about the concern about the heat lamp. I'm always in there fussing with it to make sure it's secure. The structure is an antique one for sure...but the girls seem to like the layout. I definitely need to make some adjustments. As the weather starts to get colder, I'll...
Wow I had no idea that my possible cockerel's ( I think I might have two roosters ), might give me such a hard time. They are truly pets and I think they are all frankly quit confused and might think they are something other than chickens and that I'm the mama big dog. I 've been holding them...
Wow your chicken coop pictures are AMAZING...I'm so jealous...you even have their house insulated. No Kidding... If I had the tools and the know how I'd do the same. For now here in Oregon these chickens of mine will need to survive some pretty frozen weather come winter. I'm going to make...
