11 weeks old. It’s a pretty timid bird, but does kind of puff up it’s chest when I pick it up. It often bites my finger 🙄 Not a particularly nice bird but it still hasn’t crowed so I remain hopeful maybe it could be a pullet…I definitely lean more towards rooster though.
“Meredith” is the bird I posted above with the male saddle feathers coming in. After checking Pam again, I’m thinking she is a pullet. Their faces look clearly different to me now as well. Meredith has much larger feed and comb is larger and waddles larger and overall darker.
I've wondered that myself, but I really can't tell. I have a hard time telling the two birds apart. The feathering down their backs does look different as in one looks fluffier than the other and thats the easiest way for me to tell who is who at this point. I feel like their faces look...
First time raising chicks and these two Wyandottes are almost 6 weeks old now. I have a hard time even telling these two apart but would like your expert opinion. Please explain why you think pullet or cockerel because I’d like to learn how to tell on my own one day!
