Are those feathers more narrow and pointy?

They're wing feathers, and rounded. The odd lacing sometimes makes them look pointed. A lot of laced breeds can play tricks on the eye.

I've wondered that myself, but I really can't tell. I have a hard time telling the two birds apart. The feathering down their backs does look different as in one looks fluffier than the other and thats the easiest way for me to tell who is who at this point. I feel like their faces look pretty much the same. The one standing in front is Meredith and her face looks slightly redder than the other but the waddles and comb development are the same at this point.

Well I am going to definitely follow and see how this one turns out! I have a 3 week old BLRW and it will be good to compare for me!

Hmmm well I have to say, if I were putting money on gender I’d still be in the male camp. That’s really red for 8 weeks. I know my GLW is only one bird, but in comparison to my BLRW I had last year, she wasn’t red in the until over 25 weeks old and it had very little flesh/cushion to it. I hope I’m wrong though! They are beautiful

Thank you! They are pretty red in the face (one a bit more than the other), however their tail feathers are round, so I’m still not convinced

Yeah I understand your hesitation! I went back in my pictures and Rexie started getting saddle feathers at about 11 weeks
