Double silver laced barnevelders high mortality rate

There is a range in temp. I will say they used to be in a plastic tote, it was huge like 4ft by 2 ft but my husband said maybe something with the plastic might be affecting their oxygen so then last night I switched them to a cardboard box but we still lost one overnight. Double silver laced barnevelders high mortality rate

Hi! We recently bought some double silver laced barnevelders and moss Eggers from an online hatchery. They shipped fine and all were alive upon arrival. They arrived one week ago from today. However, we have had an extremely high mortality rate with the barnevelders. They are in the same brooder...

Looks like intestine was sticking out and wrapped around leg.

There's poop so I'm assuming he's eating and drinking? What kind of electrolytes?

Looks like intestine was sticking out and wrapped around leg.

He doesn't look like he's doing well :( he was fine last night and this morning but when I just came home he's laying on his back. I got him up and moving around, now he's standing on his legs sleeping, barely opening his eyes even when startled. Any other suggestions what to do?

Looks like intestine was sticking out and wrapped around leg.

I think it's definitely the umbilical area. It's not around the tail area where the vent is. So put some antibiotic on it and let it heal itself?

Looks like intestine was sticking out and wrapped around leg.

Thank you for the tip! So no need to try to shove it back in? It's been in the incubator since this morning but I will take it out and let it heal.

Does anyone know what this is? When the chick hatched (assisted hatch) there was some blood and after a few moments. I realized the leg was wrapped in what looks like an intestine. I've gotten the leg unwrapped but there's still something sticking out. Should I push it back in or leave it alone?
