    He made it up the chicken ladder into the coop, but not on his perch. He has settled for one of the nesting boxes. I think that is a perfect place to confine him with food and water, what does everyone else think?

    It does only say chickens. I just got a rooster the other day. http://www.ci.wheatridge.co.us/DocumentView.aspx?DID=2457 Not a word about roosters. I think you should change this to say Yes for roosters.
