Game hen with a chunk out of her leg

The wound on her leg is healing. Not very pretty, but it's healing. Black and all necrotic looking, but there isn't any swelling and she is eating happily. She is very bright eyed and my rooster talks to her all the time. I'm thinking about naming her Tolly, because she hid in the abandoned toll...

    Best Game Breeds?

I've got a couple Sicilian Buttercup hens and 4 McClain hens, anyone else have the privilege to enjoy them? And what are some other favorite game breeds? I know one thing though, they are survivors.

    roosting? PICS WELCOME

My chickens roost on a 3 inch wide beam that's covered with plastic carpeting, like what you would find on a boat trailer. The rooster that I've had for 5 years now has slept on it every night his whole life, and has no foot problems at all. Just watch out for splinters on some of the rougher wood.

Our chick is here!! Yay!!--Now what do we do :) ?

    What breed chickens are these?

The top have the shape and heavy size of Jersey Giants, and I've seen a few blue ones, so that would be my guess as well.

what breed is this hen and rooster?

I've got one Sicilian buttercup hen with some good sized spurs. I've heard that they are considered bad luck by some rural chicken breeders, but I've also heard that they have strong babies and make really protective mothers.

Game hen with a chunk out of her leg

I've bought some Wonder Dust (for horses) and some poultry wound spray that I'm gonna put on her. I was wondering about maybe rinsing off the wound?

Game hen with a chunk out of her leg

My name is Sadie, and about 5 years ago, my dad and I convinced my mother into buying 6 barney chicks from a guy at a flea market. I had always wanted to add chickens to my menagerie of animals, so we did. After learning our lessons the hard way and going to the occasional chicken swap, we...
