Well, I made the leap of faith a bought 2 of these $120 . Once I have the built and installed I will post an update. I hope they work out well. :fl
Does anyone have any experience with these? They appear to be very well made and will last the life of my flock that might explain the price.... I might pull the trigger on 2 of these but was hoping for some BYC knowledge first...
After I lost 4 of my 5 hens to a trash panda (raccoon) I completely covered my coop top, bottom, and sides with 18ga HW cloth. I have not had another predator instance.
Personally I use the free option... I had a tree fall in my yard last year and I cut some limbs different sizes and made a roosting maze. Before I built my roosts, my girls would huddle in a corner of the coop and sometimes pile on-top of one another. I lost a bird this way due to suffocation...
My incubator will be on LOCKDOWN tonight! This is my first hatch and i'm quite excited. I just upgraded my phone so I will be using my old phone (Iphone 6s) to make a time lapse video of the whole process. I will share once Its available.
I use a LED light from a moped project I gave up on. The LED light is $100 but it was just laying around.
