    Large batch brooder ideas please!

Need an idea for a large batch brooder, waterer, feeder for ducklings! We are incubating 74 duck eggs and 14 goose eggs, so it needs to be a good size! We’ve never incubated this many at once, but we are starting over and since we have a cabinet incubator we figured go big or go home😅 My mom was...

I actually messaged the GQF company and suggested they come up with something and 10 minutes later I got a response and they thought that it was a great idea!🤣

    Childproofing GQF cabinet incubator?!?

here’s the control panel and the power switch is right above the power cord, which may or may not be an issue as well. She’s never played with cords so I’m not as concerned about that, but loves buttons and switches. If I can figure out how to babyproof the switches so I can turn it around I can...

    Childproofing GQF cabinet incubator?!?

Any ideas for childproofing the control panel and on/off switch on a GQF cabinet incubator? My 21 month old loves buttons and switches😅😅😅 I have baby proofing latches for the door, but I’m not sure how to go about keeping her little fingers off of the buttons. We have limited space and can’t...

    Duck pen advice needed!

This is the fencing we are using We are starting with hatching eggs, and of course at first they will be in a brooder, then most likely a smaller pen to start with using some cage wire we have. I have some coated 1x1 spaced cage wire that we will use for them to start with while we can be...

    Duck pen advice needed!

We are setting up our duck pen using RedBrand field fence.however I am worried about them fitting through the wire so we are layering chicken wire at the bottom. My question is would 1 foot be adequate, or should I go with 2 foot? We are getting Silver Appleyards, so larger ducks. Once they are...

Goose egg turner for GQF incubator?

I am hoping to incubate some goose eggs soon, along with some duck eggs. I have the GQF cabinet incubator and a few of the styrofoam type incubators. I really want to incubate them in the GQF, because of the better temp and humidity control. However, I haven't been able to find an egg tray that...

    Giant-silkie mix

Hey, I know this is an older post, but I am curious, what color is the mother? I have some silkies and dark brahmas and am wanting to cross them, and would love to try to retain the Dark Brahma colors, like yours has. I definitely think that is a cross with a Dark Brahma. Edit: also, silkie...

    Giant silkies??

I just looked up Hedemora on Greenfire farms. It says that they are small chickens, though not as small as bantams, but defiantly not large. There are people working on breeding larger silkies by crossing them with brahmas and Jersey Giants, but they are still just in project phases at the...

DIY Thread - Let's see your "Inventions".

So, after bumping the post, I realized I actually do have a DIY to contribute. I built this quail hutch a few years ago, though we are now getting out of quail, and I am about to modify it into a chicken coop for the few bantams we have. Will post an update once the modifications are complete!
