    Yes, I name my chickens. I have 12 Black Star laying hens named Layla, Maggie, Sadie, Lacy, Penny, Ivy, Lily, Lydia, Ruby, Raven, Daisy & Sunny and a Frizzle rooster named Cecil. 🐣

    I use pine shavings and have for many years. However,they get kicked out of nests and get stuck to the fresh wet eggs. Considering trying nest pads, the kind made from shavings (kinda like Easter grass). Does anyone use these? Just wondering how long they last? Do you clean them or throw them...

    can chickens over eat sunflower seeds?

    My hens love sunflower seeds! I buy unshelled,raw, unsalted ones.I throw a handful in their pen and let them scratch around for them. It 's a great treat and they 're healthy!
