    Introducing myself :)

I've been on backyardchickens for a few years (since 2015) after a friend highly recommended it. I have read things but noticed I hadn't sent an intro! (1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I helped my dad with a tiny coop of chickens when I was a ten and loved it. I...

What plants are safe for chickens?

I have been concerned about amounts. We only have three chickens so when I gave them some cooked oatmeal, I gave about 1 cup for all three. They went crazy over it! No whole pot of beans! Beans - I haven't thought of feeding them those!

What plants are safe for chickens?

Thank you, Gritsar. This helps a LOT. :) I don't have any plants in the place we have them right now other than the marigolds, lemon balm, and pepper plants. I am glad to know they won't eat what will hurt them for the most part!

    Hello from GA!

I just realized that the other replies I made were attached to the "like" thumbs up button but there was another place to reply like this. Hopefully, I did it right! Anyway, I have been looking at breeds and reading on which seem best for where we are but thought we had to wait for a coop. My...

    Hello from GA!

A precious friend of mine suggested this site and I am so thankful! I have wanted chickens since I was ten years old and took care of my dad's but never had any of my own. Two of our five kids are still at home and I still want chickens. Thankfully, my husband has finally decided that he agrees...
