That's some good ideas thank you
We have some entertainment for them too like we hang a cabbage or lettuce in the middle of the run on the other run there's a tree with some stumps that they climb and a little shelter that they climb too they can go thru the door with no problem
we are using...
chicken coop is 8 x12 they are only inside when they are laying or sleeping they have a door to go in and out
the one chicken run is 12x20 and the second run is 20 x 16
I have pictures of the run and coop in the post... Whats worries me is that we have now to separate a little brahma because they started pecking on her feet
I know they were pecked by the chickens because when we noticed the butt area was bleeding a lot we removed the chicken and treated her but she died like an hour after.
the same happens with the other two but when we realized about the injury they were already eating the chicken
We have around 20+ chicken 2 easter egger, 4 little brahma, 7 buff orpington and 8 Rhode island red... We have 3 meat chicken that we wanted to keep because started laying big eggs unfortunately they got killed by one of our chickens... I would like to know how I can id the aggresor(killer...
Thank you Wyorp Rock while I was attempting another picture another hen picked on her... I cant separate them (don't have the space) so now that they have the chicken run ready I am building some entertainment like the hanging Cabbage to correct the behavior and also I'm making some treats...
yes, they been inside of the coop during winter since we didnt have a safe roof in the chicken run, we have a lotnofbravens and hawks around here.
And yes we are in the US
they get 16% crumbles and once a week some veges like lettuce, celery, etc.
, I just took them outside because have not snow or freeze in a week. Is the only chicken loosing feathers... all the laying chickens are the same age 9m old.
They are not free range too many hawks and ravens
