I pulled the egg out to check the status as it's the last egg and I already had to pull the other babies out, and the membrane was obviously dried out. So I used q tips and some tweezers to get rid of that and then let the chick work it's way out after that. Fingers crossed he'll make it, we...
Hello everyone, this is my first time with the incubator so I am not sure what's normal and what's not.
There's one egg (day 21) that pipped yesterday sometime around noon. There are now random pips around the end of the shell, and there's a beak that is obviously breathing sticking out of one...
No, we put her under the heat lamp in a makeshift brooder for the night with a stuffed rabbit.
We have 3 more eggs and in all the excitement I haven't candles them yet. Last time I candled, 5 days ago or so there where 2 that I had hopes for and 2 that I was skeptical about.
I am looking into...

There was also another hen who was trying to sit on the nest, so we had to put her on the roost.
But yay! We did it! Well, mama...

Update: We checked underneath the hen today and there was one egg that had a developed egg that was crushed and then a hatched chick that had been pushed to the very edge of the nest. Is that normal?
The hatched chick is alive but not really making any noise. should we pull her out from under...
Hi everyone, this is our first time we've had a hen go broody completely and since we have a rooster we figured we would let her sit on them.
However, we have had two chicks hatch out about a day apart and both have died. We just found them under Mama dead. I am worried the broody is homicidal...
