Anyone looking to get out of the city, we are looking to sell our home in central IL. Our property includes a 19x12 lofted barn with leanto and an 8x8 coop inside a 25x50 fenced run. The leanto on the barn was set up to be our initial run. We will be taking the coop attached to that space...
Wow, this post feels like ages ago now. All three BRs appear to be hens at this point. Waiting anxiously for the first egg. They are right about 19 to 20ish weeks old. Their combs and wattles are well developed and nice and red. Hoping before I go back to work full time in the office the first...
We've had a lot of rain. So that has been One of my worries. I haven't seen her poops today, but a couple others I have seen last couple days have had very watery poops. I do have corid on hand, will get the waters treated.
Have a brahma pullet that has been doing poorly today. My husband notice she went back into the coop this morning but when I came out for lunch he thought she was back out and about. I noticed a bit ago she wasn't chilling with the rest of our 8weekers and found her by herself not looking good...
Nice, we have 3 calico princess pullets, so would be good. Have one white leghorn pullet..what coloring would we get from breeding her with the black one?
Good evening BYC!
I may be getting one or both of these year old roos this weekend. Any ideas on what breed they are. Sorry don't have a better pic of the red ones face. Assume they are a barnyard mix.
I was going to post almost the exact same question this evening. I have 10 pullets approaching the 19 week mark. 4 are brahmas, so not expecting anything from them yet, but I have 3 barred rocks and 3 cinnamon queens that I'm anxious to see some productivity from soon. We were allowing them to...
Our flock is a bunch of youngins yet ranging from 3 wks to about 16 wks. Not expecting eggs for awhile yet. But I'll give them all the encouragement I can. Pretty sure I heard several approving Clucks from the older girls. It really did sound like they were having a conversation.
Had hay delivered to the homestead today in advance of the arrival of a breeding pair of lambs next week. The chicken inspectors were quick on the scene. Love how curios they are. Can't wait to go smell the hay!
