How long have you been dealing with it? It is not too swollen but I think if you can soak the scab off with some warm water and epsom salts and see if you can get any pus out and get some medicine up into contact with the flesh it would heal faster. Good luck.

Hmm, I have 3 EE's. Two don't really care for people and one is super friendly, BUT the super friendly one had someone beat her up once and she is paranoid of who is around her. I found that if I trim her cheek feathers down to where she can see things better she is much less freaked out.

The organic feed looks like it is a whole grain mix, almost like scratch. It does look tastier. Let us know how they like it in a few weeks or if they pick out the different grains.

I went through something similar last year. It took days of soft food (bread soaked in olive oil, yogurt, scrambled eggs with some butter or oil) and massaging the crop to work it out. Don't panic.
