My hen needed a week of Clavamox after being mauled my a neighbor dog. The ver said to keep her seperated from the other chickens so that her egg didn't get mixed in every day as they would not be edible for several months. Several months seems like a really long time and she is very unhappy...
HAHAHAHA! Exactly. We run a LARGE Homeschool co op and it is often our job to transport all sorts of things. Including haybales, dirt, buckets of shaving cream ect. Chickens, dogs, turtles and ducks have all been privy to rides on the car as well. Glad I am not the only one.
I dosed everyone for a few days after seeing some blood in one pile of poo. How long after can we resume eating the eggs? I treid searching online but haven't found anything...Thanks!
UGH- Yeah he/she seems to have a bit of pink wattles coming in. We had a Turken we thought was a boy for weeks and wasn't. I just keep telling this frizzle to "Please be a girl". :(

65 eggs a week sounds fabulous to this chicken mama! That sounds like a lot for 2 people though unless you are going to gift them to friends or neighbors. We will soon have 9 laying hens and I am looking forward to all those wonderful eggs as the 3 laying now are not enough for a family of 4...
Our TS this year had Silkies and Frizzles in the Bantam boxes. People were going nuts trying to get them. They also had the reg RIR, Leghorns, some seabrights and mixed bantams. We ended up with a white Frizzle Cochin from them. :)
