    If you google pinless peepers, it'll list online companies that sell them. I checked ebay and bought a pack of 10 and it included a nice pair of backwards pliers to ease putting them on.

    I have a mix, Barred Rock, Black sexlink, Australorp, and Reds. I saw a dark red hen on top, and I only have 4 of those. Maybe I could quarantine those 4 and keep a closer watch? I have 31 hens total.

    Chicken Boredom and Feather Picking

    If its the fluffy feathers under the tail, I would check for lice. Some of my girls started losing those feathers last winter when it wasn't as cold as it should have been. I dusted them with Sevin, 3 times, spaced out 10 days. Not all of my chickens had a problem either.

    This buff is quite friendly. She only puts up a fuss when I take "her" eggs. I put 4 wooden ones under her tonight when I took the real eggs out. Hopefully this will keep her sitting for another week until the chicks arrive.

    Killed my hen after she pecked my son's eye - 2nd time

    My son loves to collect the eggs. When he was 3, one of our hens jumped up and pecked him on the lip, causing it to bleed. I did not blame the hen......I blamed myself. It could have easily been his eye! From then on, I made sure he wore safety glasses and his tall boots.
