Yup, I had the same experience. The chickens learned targeting ridiculously fast! The dogs... not so much. I keep threatening to train a chicken to run an agility course and give demonstrations just for fun. If I ever get around to it I'll post a video.
Yeah, after I googled it to make sure it wasn't poisonous, we were able to handle it quite easily. It only tried to bite once. REALLY beautiful snake! We let it go since there is a problem in our neighborhood with rodents. But after my girls start laying, if we start missing eggs, it's toast!
Casey and I took some treats out for the girls. When she put the bowl down, all of them came running except one. She was standing perfectly still like she was hypnotized. She was totally ingnoring the feeding frenzy behind her. I walked towards her to see what was wrong and found her in a...
what size coop do you have and how much ventilation? We had high humidity for a few days and my normally clean smelling pine shavings really began to smell. I had one 7 week old barred rock get really ill. I added more ventilation to the coop and luckily the humidity dropped too. Now she's doing...

2) What is the behavior, exactly. Didn't come out of the coop Saturday morning. She was VERY lethargic. I brought her out of the coop and...
Get a day old chick, raise it in the house with people. ALL interactions with people only initially. Once it gets old enough, handle it everyday. The more time it spends with people the more likely it will follow you around.
Well, I KNEW my malinois would be a chicken killer if given the opportunity. Now I have proof. My six year old daughter went out to pet the chickens in the run and our SLW cockerel slipped past her and into the yard. She had forgotten the dog was out so she didn't bother to catch him and put him...
