Thank you! It was completely separate,. Throughout the whole incubation process, the chick in that egg always seemed to be moving less and slower than other eggs when candled, there was a couple times I thought it had died due to lack of any movement. I guess it makes sense now.

I had this chick make it to internal pip on day 20, it never made it any further and died. I opened the egg and a lot of what seems to be yolk was present, some of it was extremely hard and gummy. The chick had partially absorbed the yolk sac and it was intact, not leaking. So what was this...
