I built one 4 years ago and it has worked flawlessly since. It has a solar panel on the roof to keep the battery charged. Two timers. One relay. And the actuator to raise and lower the door. the door consists of a pice of 3/4” plywood with kitchen drawer glides on each side.

What a fun project. I built one on a bass boat trailer. Very nice for moving around the property. in the summer I keep it in the shade, and the winter it gets moved to the garden.

I found some cheap linoleum to put over my OSB floor. On top of that I have 1/8” luan that is loosely laid on top of the lino. That way, when it’s time to clean, I just pull the luan out the door and scrape it off.

There have been a few times that I used a large fishing net.
