Not sure if this has been reported widely yet, but bird flu found in wild ducks at Green Lake and Volunteer Park in Seattle and at a park in Bellevue. Eek!

Thanks for the reassurance @gtaus - I hope that will be the case. I've had chickens for quite some time and this is the first time that anybody has laid strange eggs (other than very small eggs) so I worry. It's very helpful to hear other people's experiences!
Thanks @Happy hen lover - I will pick up some calcium citrate and try supplementing for a bit to see if that helps. Appreciate your reply! And thanks for tagging an expert too :)
Anybody? Is this just because they're still relatively new to laying? Also - with the rough egg, after reading other posts on BYC, it seems that means too much calcium. But the shell-less egg usually means not enough calcium (maybe) so I don't want to remove the oyster shell, right?
I seem to have a hen that is laying just yolks/whites. At first I thought someone was eating eggs after finding messy nest boxes with yolk all over (and no shell bits), but today there was also a big wet spot out by their feeder that looked like a plop of egg white. Again no shells. But then...
I bought mine from mypetchicken.com, so they were a day old when they arrived.
The smell did go way for the most part, though if you put your nose right next to it, it was still there faintly. Didn't seem to bother the chicks at all and supposedly it isn't harmful but I felt better letting it...
I used one for four chicks in my garage last fall (beginning in early September). My advice is to leave it on continuously now to burn off the glue smell, it's pretty strong at first but should be okay in a few days when your eggs hatch. And then hang it at a slight incline (we hung with a small...
Two flocks with cases found in Montana:

I believe at least one or both of these is in the Pacific Flyway, so that is the first detection there (not counting the bald eagle in Vancouver, BC...
Saw this today (from a case in Maine):

Found it interesting that they told the flock owner not to go into her barn where she had her chickens in for 3 weeks...
New report today says it has been found in a backyard flock in Wyoming - apparently Wyoming is in both the central flyway and the pacific flyway, depending on the part of the state, not sure which this detection is in but eek! Also, thanks to everyone here who is posting, I've been following...
Hi @TheOddOneOut - it seems all are pullets, two (easter egger and orpington) have started laying in the last few weeks and the other two are squatting for us and looking very girlish but no eggs yet. Hopefully soon. Thanks for asking!
