After Rapunzel (my only female button) died I incubated her eggs. So far only one hatched, looks a lot like mom. I've seen a couple of other eggs move, but no pipping, no cracks and not much movement yesterday. I'm going to give the others until this weekend before I check for viability.

I had to separate my males due to fighting, but that was prior to my females death. I may have to reintroduce a male to her mate as he's looking for her like crazy. The egg that broke was due to human error when changing the bedding. I wish I had an x-ray machine to see if she did become egg bound.
I haven't been giving any calcium supplements, I wasn't sure I had a female until she started laying. I left work early, but she has died. I'm heartbroken. She had moved from her spot to the food/water. I have my incubator set up and will try to hatch her eggs.
If none hatch, I'll have three...
On Saturday I cleaned the cage (change bedding every 1 - 2 weeks), my only female was fine. Sunday morning when I looked at them she was on her eggs, thought "Great she's finally sitting." Went home at lunch today to grab some things I forgot and looked at her.
She hadn't moved, eyes closed. I...
Came home today and saw an egg in my button's cage, since it was due for cleaning, I found another. Two eggs, I had almost given up hope of her laying eggs, now to see if she becomes broody and sits. If she does become broody and these hatch, I'll need to find homes. So if anyone is interested...
I have a silver male I would like to trade for a female of any color. He is approximately 13 weeks old. I live close to San Antonio and prefer pick up as to not stress the bird any more than necessary. Would like to re-home him asap. If interested in purchase, make an offer.
Out of the second batch of eggs (same seller) only two hatched again. I need help identifying sex and color. They are roughly 4 1/2 weeks. I'm pretty sure my older buttons are both silver males as they are about 7 weeks, no eggs and both have a bib. The older buttons are in the last photo.

The majority do not have any blood on their beaks. Of those that do, they look pretty much the same. 24% protein, Manna Pro Gamebird. I loved them to my chicken brooder, which is a 4'X4' box. So far, no others have blood on their beaks.
I have them on paper towels right now. Was planning on putting bedding in this week. I didn't see any sharp pieces anywhereand their food is fine but not dusty. Tried wiping it off, but wouldn't budge. This morning I saw two more the same way. Could it be pecking from the others, even though I...
I noticed that on one of my day old Gambel chicks the beak is bleeding. It's breathing through the mouth and has been running around and drinking. It is now in ICU. Haven't seen any pecking. The brooder has a red light and is a 50 gallon tub, 42 3/4 X 22 X 18. Plenty of water and food...
First, I'm really glad I didn't toss my eggs. Five more have hatched and three are working on it. One seems to have a leg issue. It tries to get up but can't, only flops around. The right leg seems to be twisted behind it, at times like it's sitting Indian style. Anyone know what happened and...
I was afraid that they shrink wrapped. When I get home tonight I will do what you suggest, getaclue. The one I assisted die about 5 minutes ago. Just wasn't meant to make it. The only thing I saw at my local TSC was Rooster Booster and another liquid that had vitamins in it. Thanks for the advice.
My Gambel chicks have been hatching since Monday. Majority hatched at the same time. However, I had 5 eggs that cracked the shell, 2 punctured the membrane, 3 did not. Of those, one zipped but couldn't kick free, it consistently moved and peeped. I believe the others died shortly after...
